The exchange programme of foreign judges was a great success
In the framework of the short-term exchange programme of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) 5 foreign judges arrived to the Regional Court of Veszprém.
The judges assigned to the criminal section at the second week of their visit attended to a session of the criminal section of the Regional Court of Veszprém where there was a consultation about drafting decrees and preventing the techniques of the delay of procedures – considering the guests the programme was with English interpretation as during their whole visit.
At one of the criminal appeal councils of the Regional Court of Veszprém they could visit some trials at second instance and beside of that they could also get to know the Hungarian criminal substantive law and the Hungarian criminal procedure law as well. They have also told about what kind of legal solutions their country’s legal system knows for some of the situations came up.
The guests also could have participated at a presentation about odor identification with dogs at the Police Headquarters of Veszprém County.
Both at the Regional Court as at the District Court of Veszprém they have visited criminal trials at first instance.
On one of the days they visited the smallest district court of the country in Zirc – with a delegation leading by the President of the Reginal Court of Veszprém.
In Zirc they had the opportunity to visit the Abbey. After the experience of the traditional Hungarian hospitality the guests could admire the beauty of the surrounding nature during their visit in Bakonybél.
According to both the foreign judges as the co-operative Hungarian judges and trainee judges’ opinion the programme was mutually useful and contributed the enrichment of every participant’s experiences.
