New Act on Criminal Procedure (CP): CP Trainer's Training will start on the 22th of January
The new CP will bring a comprehensive reform of criminal proceedings, hence it is highly important for the judicial organization to be properly prepared for its entry into force on 1st July 2018.
The National Office for Judiciary (NOJ) has set up a project organization in order to meet the complex challenges the judicial organization will face. One of the tasks of the project is to train criminal judges and judicial employees assisting them by fulfilling their professional duties. One of the pillars of preparing for the application of the Code is a handbook written by renowned judicial experts focusing on changes and practical problems. The handbook is currently under the professional revision of the Curia and will be available electronically for members of the judiciary from March 2018.
Another major field of the training is education. The Hungarian Academy of Justice will launch a trainers’ training course on 22 January 2018. 130 judges are participating, coming from all instances of the judicial system national wide and are involved as trainers in the local trainings starting from February.
27 lectures presented by judges involved in the law-making procedure and in the writing of the handbook as well are offered to the participants. The training focuses on conceptual changes and new legal instruments and the practical application thereof. During the training participants also have the opportunity to discuss questions raised. The lectures will be available for the participants and also for all members of the, as the lectures will be recorded.
After the training, the recorded audio- and video materials, as well as the slides of the presentations, will be available electronically. Audio recordings can even be downloaded by judges to their smart devices in podcast format.
