The Digital Court can become a national export product

Dr. Tünde Handó, President of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) and Péter Szíjjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade have concluded a cooperation agreement on 17 April 2019. According to the agreement, Hungarian courts will contribute in the development of Hungary’s digitial export. The agreement is based on the achievements of the NOJ in court digitalization, which was acknowledged by the European Commission in its annual justice scoreboard.
According to the recent EU scoreboard, Hungary was in the top three EU countries by creating a 21th century court management. The most important developments of recent years include the continously expanding remote hearing system established last year, full access to electronic communication, as well as the e-file, which will be introduced soon and will provide access for the participants in the proceedings to the documents of their cases, irrespective of place and time.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the solutions created as a result of developments - monitored and incited by the NOJ -, as well as the knowledge accumulated in the course of digital transformation are values which are worthy for international attention. Therefore, the agreement between the NOJ and the Ministry states that the two organisations will cooperate in familiarizing digital court products abroad and utilizing them in foreign trade.
