The president of the republic has appointed the new vice-presidents of the National Office for the Judiciary

On 7 April 2020, János Áder, president of the republic has appointed Katalin Csillám and Mónika Erőss as vice-presidents of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ).

Katalin Csillám has served within the judiciary since 1980. She has been appointed as judge in 1983 at the Miskolc City Court, where she acted as vice-president of the court between 1992 and 1996. Beginning in 1997, she has been a judge at the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén Regional Court, later as chairperson of chamber, and acted as head of division of the Regional Civil and Administrative Division between 2003 and 2004. She has been appointed as vice-president of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén Regional Court (the name of the court changed in 2012 to Miskolc Regional Court) between 2004 and 2016. She is acting as chairperson of chamber at the Miskolc Regional Court since 2016.

Katalin Csillám

She has been the president of the Final Exams Committee of the University of Miskolc Faculty of Law between 2000 and 2016. She has been the member of the Bar Examination Committee since 2013, and of the Lawyer Training Experts Body of the Ministry of Justice since 2016.

She has been the member of the working group on the preparation of the draft of the new Civil Procedure Code, and of the Civil Procedure Codification Editorial Committee between 2014 and 2015.

She has been awarded a ministerial certificate of merit as a recognition for her judicial service in 1995, and received a silver diploma of the Andor Juhász Award in 2014.

Mónika Erőss has served within the judiciary since 1982. She has been appointed as judge in 1984 at the Central District Court of Pest. Beginning in 1988, she has been a judge at the Budapest-Capital Regional Court, between 1999 and 2011 she performed administrative duties as presidential judge besides her judicial work. She has been appointed as chairperson of chamber in 2002, and has been the head of unit of the Registration and Non-litigious Cases Unit of the Budapest-Capital Regional Court between 2009 and 2012. She has been a judge of the Curia since January 2012, and the Curia’s secretary general since June 2012.

Monika Erőss

On the request of the National Judicial Council before 2012, and on the request of the president of the National Office for the Judiciary after 2012, she has participated in various digitization of court procedures projects. She is a member of the Bar Examination Committee, and the president of the Court Administration Exam Committee of the Curia.

The two former vice-presidents of the National Office for the Judiciary continue their service as chairpersons of chamber at regional courts of appeal since 1 April 2020: Árpád Répássy at the Debrecen Regional Court of Appeal, and Sándor Vajas at the Budapest-Capital Regional Court of Appeal.
