The ‘Sziget Court’ was popular on the Civil Sziget!

It was the fifth time this year that the ‘Sziget Court’ tent welcomed the participants of the Sziget Festival between 7 and 13 August. Hundreds were interested in the programs offered by the Sziget Court, despite the heat wave that lasted for days.
The Civil Sziget program venue was for the programs of public organizations, aimed at the education, integration and prevention of the social problems of people aged 16–35.
The National Office for the Judiciary has been providing information to the younger generation and developing the comprehensibility of courtly communication for years under its Open Court program. The Sziget Court provided a wide range of programs to this end, adapted to the specific circumstances and needs of the festival.
During the festival week, 22 members of the court staff from around the country took part in the work of the Sziget Court, representing every level of the judicial system.
Through the work of the well-prepared team of court staff members, the young people received easily understandable information on court procedures. They could become acquainted with legal terms or learn the hardships of being a witness in the form of games. Many were interested in cyber legal cases, but through the game it soon became apparent that it is not so easy to tell what constitutes a crime.
Not only Hungarian youngsters were interested in the achievements of the judiciary: also many foreign guests visited the NOJ tent. Those in a playful mood could participate games in English.
According to the feedback of visitors, the Sziget Court provided information that is useful in everyday life, and the programs enhanced the trust in the Hungarian judiciary.
