Security-enhancing project

Equipping court buildings with facilities increasing security and IT applications

„Security, stability, reforms”

The aim of the project is to improve the sense of security of the clients of the courts, and to strengthen the security of the courts as well as of the work of judges and court staff. To achieve this, security equipment is to be procured and database links are to be established to facilitate more secure and more effective administration. The investment aims not only to maintain the status quo, but to create a better, more modern infrastructure environment which is more comfortable and more secure for the clients.

The project consists of the following two parallel subprojects:

Technical subproject

This subproject covers the supply of security equipment for court buildings.

In the subproject 104 new metal detection gates and 45 new X-ray package screening devices were purchased.

As a result of the public procurement procedure, a remainder amount of approximately gross HUF 150 million was accumulated in the subproject. Based on this remaining fund, 4 pieces of new metal detection gates and 7 pieces of new X-ray package screening devices and 150 pieces of hand-held metal detection equipment and TEMPEST workstations were set.

As a result from the changes in the exchange rate of currencies, the NOJ submitted a request for the utilization of new remaining fund, that is used for the purchase of additional equipment (16 pieces of package screening devices and 8 pieces per site – altogether 128 pieces – of pull-out cordon pillars necessary for the equipment) and the organization of training courses related to the purchased equipment. The two public procurement procedures are in process.

IT subproject

IT subproject provides direct data access between the court administrative system (BIIR) and the Personal Data and Address Registration and Central Misdemeanor Records to strengthen the data-protection of judiciary customers and to put in practice the principle of interoperability in the process of the data-handling and data-recording of the courts.

As a result of the subproject, altogether 901 pieces of new work stations for the court rooms and 284 pieces of new office work stations are now available for the purpose to increase the efficiency of work performed at the courts. The operation of these devices is supported by 165 pieces of network equipment.

Furthermore, an additional 2-2 pieces of check point hardware and licences, 4 pieces of blade servers and 1 piece of storage were purchased, together with 350 pieces of Microsoft and 250 pieces of Verde licences, which will increase the security of the network and will support remote work of the judges.
