About the case

Proceeding at first instance, in March 2015 the Tribunal of Miskolc sentenced the accused, Gy. L. to 10 years in maximum security prison and prohibited him from practicing public affairs for 10 years because of continuously committed felony sexual assault. The accused can be released earliest on probation after completing ¾ of his sentence. He and his defender appealed for mitigation.

According to the factual stance established by the court, the accused and his partner raised their five underage children – born between 2005 and 2012 – in Taktaharkány. The couple’s relationship went wrong and the woman moved out multiple times. Some occasions she took the children with her, but sometimes she left them with the accused. In May 2013, the woman moved out again, took the three youngest children with her and left the two eldest – 5 and 7 years old – girls with their father. In this period of time the accused threatened his 7 years old daughter with beating and once using a knife and forced her to arouse and satisfy his sexual desire. The accused denied commiting the crime.
