On 27th July 2015 Pécs District Court has ordered one month pre-trial detention of a 42 years old man, on the ground of the reasonable suspicion of five counts of felony child abuse and other criminal offenses.

The Police Department of Siklós has ordered the investigation on the basis of the family social worker’s notification on December 18, 2014. According to the information of the social worker, the accused has regularly abused his cohabitant’s four children from her previous relationship.

Then, under the effect of the previously launched criminal procedure, another victim has also lodged a complaint against the accused, who – after a prior argument – has insulted the accuser on July 24, 2015, around 14:50 at the house of the accused’ cohabitant, and in a consequence of the insult the accuser has suffered a serious injury.

The court considers that there are reasonable grounds to be feared that in case the accused is at large, he would attempt to influence the witnesses and the victims, and as during the investigation he committed further intentional crime to be punished by imprisonment, there is a reasonable fear that in case of release he would commit further crimes.
