About the courts
Dr. Árpád Répássy and dr. Sándor Vajas, vice-presidents of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ), welcomed dr. Judit Zsófia Oltai, President of the Hungarian Association of Judges (MABIE), to sign a grant agreement between the two organizations.
The importance of family relations, the alteration of the child’s habitual residence, the arrangements for visiting rights and child support obligations where the main topics at the National Conference on Child-Centered Justice, organized by the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) with the participation of one-hundred judges working in the field of family law and criminal law.
Participants came from twenty Member States to the Hungarian Academy of Justice (HAJ) to review the Brussels IIA Regulation and one of its most important institutions, the 'unlawful removal of children abroad'. Judges and representatives of central authorities also discussed the difficulties that have arisen in practice in recent years.
A 3-day training session and lecturer competence development, titled „Interests and values in the European Union” has started for court secretary and newly appointed judge members of the European Law Advisors’ Network (ELAN), and participants of the THEMIS competition on the Hungarian Academy of Justice (MIA).
Continuing the dialogue initiated by the NOJ on 6 November 2019, dr. Árpád Répássy, vice-president of the NOJ personally handed over the annual report of the president of the NOJ 2018 to the members of the NJC, along with the celebratory volume entitled "We Are Judges", which contains the thoughts of the great judges' predecessors on the judicial profession, independence, impartiality, fairness and justice.
The best future practices in the interest of the child – this will be the subject of the international conference on the application of the revised Brussels IIA regulation, organized jointly with the Ministry of Justice, held at the Hungarian Academy of Justice, on 7-8 November.
Representatives of another renowned institution were introduced to the digital developments of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ).

Based on the data provided by the courts, the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) prepared a summary of the developments in the first half-year of 2019. Compared to the 2011 annual analysis, the summary is completely renewed and significantly expanded.
The foundation stone of the new judicial training institution in Balatonszemes was solemnly placed. The „MIA-Balaton” can be completed by January 2021.
