The decisions of various courts and authorities resolving legal disputes as well as certain claims based on certain documents must be enforced by way of judicial enforcement proceedings, a nonlitigous proceeding, The rules of court execution proceedings are laid down in Act LII of 1994 (hereinafter: Judicial Enforcement Act).

Judicial enforcement proceedings are of two stages, namely ordering and implementation of enforcement.

Enforcement proceedings are instituted at the request of the party requesting enforcement.

Since it is crucial to efficiently represent the interests of the judicial system while shaping and improving the regulation defining the basis of criminal jurisdiction, the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) also takes part in the ongoing codification of the new Criminal Procedure Code.

The president of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) announced the Sustainable Values Program (SVP), consisting of three pillars, with the aim of transmitting the values of the judiciary for the posterity by relying on past traditions and results already achieved.

The NationalOffice for the Judiciary has organised the International Conference on Courts and Communication for this sixth time in the Hungarian Academy of Justice (Magyar Igazságügyi Akadémia) in 2018. This confererence – having evolved into a traditional event – serves as a professional forum for foreign and domestic judges, communications experts, to share good practices relating to court communications. The conference series have hosted nearly 600 interested professionals from several European countries over the past six years.

On 26 February 2019, the President of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) negotiated the question of the new judicial remuneration system with Finance Minister Mihály Varga and dr. Pál Völner, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. At the meeting, Dr. Tünde Handó presented the NOJ’s proposal, which was continously developed in the course of eight months, taking into account the opinion of judges and court leaders, and was finally crystallized by the end of last year.

Since January 2018, the National Office for the Judiciary has been a partner in the "InAbsentiEAW" project launched by the University of Maastricht and supported by the European Commission.

A 3-day training session and lecturer competence development, titled „Interests and values in the European Union” has started for court secretary and newly appointed judge members of the European Law Advisors’ Network (ELAN), and participants of the THEMIS competition on the Hungarian Academy of Justice (MIA).

In civil proceedings the plaintiff (that can be both natural and non-natural persons) seeks to protect their property and/or personal rights.

The President of the National Office for the Judiciary ordered the modification of the period of document-quarantine by PNOJ Regulation No.71/2020 (V.13). In order to speed up handling paper documents, the storage container of incoming documents can be opened after three days, instead of seven. Document management can be continued in compliance with the epidemiological rules in force.

The use of speech recognition and transcription software at the courts could facilitate compliance with the deadlines relating to the obligation of putting decisions and minutes into writing, and would also result in more efficient use of the working time by reducing the time required for transcription.

A judge with at least 5 years of judicial practice may be eligible for election as a member of the NJC.

On May 9, 2019, the General Assembly of the European Association of Judges (EAJ) in Copenhagen adopted a report condemning the Hungarian jurisdiction. The National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) turned to the President of the EAJ because of the false allegations, factual and legal errors included in the report.

A two-day long international conference titled ‘Judicial Cooperation with Candidate and Neighboring Countries of the European Union’ was organized by the Ministry of Justice and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) for the judicial organizations on 19-20 June 2019 in Budapest.
