Enforcement proceedings

The decisions of various courts and authorities resolving legal disputes as well as certain claims based on certain documents must be enforced by way of judicial enforcement proceedings, a nonlitigous proceeding, The rules of court execution proceedings are laid down in Act LII of 1994 (hereinafter: Judicial Enforcement Act).

Judicial enforcement proceedings are of two stages, namely ordering and implementation of enforcement.

Enforcement proceedings are instituted at the request of the party requesting enforcement.

Procedures for adjudging offences

Act II of 2012 on minor offences, offence procedures and the registration system of offence(hereinafter: the Offences Act) provides for sanctioning criminal action that violates or jeopardises generally accepted rules of cohabitation within society, without however the level or risk or extent of danger that would consitute a crime and which would necessitate sanctions accordingly. The range of action deemed as offence is defined by the Offences Act.

The National Infocommunication Service Provider (NISZ Zrt.) has granted the "Infocommunication Project in Public Administration" Year Award for the National Office for the Judiciary, the National Prison Service, the National Police Headquarters, the Prosecutor General's Office and the National Tax Office for their project work on distance hearing systems.

Curia of Hungary

The organisation of the Curia

The Curia is the highest judicial authority in Hungary. Under the authority of its President it has three departments: criminal, civil and administrative-labour law departments. Each department has various chambers: chambers hearing appellate cases, chambers passing uniformity decisions, chambers issuing decisions on principles, as well as working groups examining judicial practice.

Changes in the courts’ caseload

Based on the data provided by the courts, the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ) prepared a summary of the developments in the first half-year of 2019. Compared to the 2011 annual analysis, the summary is completely renewed and significantly expanded.

After the successful conferences of the last four years, the National Office for the Judiciary organises the next international two-day conference in Budapest on 12-13 October 2017, entitled Conference on Courts and Communication. This will be the fifth event of a series of annual conferences held in Budapest dedicated to the complex issue of courts and communication with a specific focus issue each year presented by both nationally and internationally acclaimed experts.

Fővárosi Ítélőtábla - Jogerős ítélet a terrorszervezetek propagandatermékeit terjesztő férfi ügyében

A háborús uszítás bűntette miatt T. D. Sz. vádlott ellen indult büntetőügyben a Fővárosi Ítélőtábla nem találta alaposnak sem a súlyosításra irányuló ügyészi, sem a vádlott felmentését célzó védelmi fellebbezéseket, a mai napon kihirdetett ítéletével csak járulékos kérdésekben hozott eltérő döntést, az elsőfokú bíróság ítéletét egyebekben helybenhagyta. Az eljárás ezzel jogerősen befejeződött.

A Budapest Környéki Törvényszék 2023. január 25-én kihirdetett ítéletével T. D. Sz. vádlottat háborús uszítás bűntette miatt 2 év börtönbüntetésre és 2 év közügyektől eltiltásra ítélte.

2019 elejétől egyszerűsödhetnek a keresetlevél nyomtatványok

Az Országos Bírósági Hivatal (OBH) folyamatosan egyeztet az Igazságügyi Minisztériummal (IM) a keresetlevelek egyszerűsítésének módjáról. Az új keresetlevél nyomtatványokat rendszeresítő rendelet 2019 elején léphet hatályba

VIII. National Judicial Sports Days - Debrecen won the Trophy

This year’s National Judicial Sports Days ended this Sunday. The program at the University of Miskolc campus was organized jointly by the Debrecen Regional Court of Appeal and the Balassagyarmat, Debrecen, Eger, Miskolc and Nyíregyháza Regional Courts with the support of Dr. Tünde Handó, President of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ).

Nearly 200 remote hearings between September and November 2018

In a period of three months, 96 judges used on 191 occasions a total of 72 remote hearing points established by mid-September 2018 nationwide. 51% of the hearings were conducted in November. With the help of the equipment, protected persons as well as victims needing special treatment, such as juveniles, can confess their testimony in a separate room in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the defendants.

Hungarian Academy of Justice

The Hungarian Academy of Justice operates as one of the departments of the National Office for the Judiciary, aimed to organise and provide trainings for judges and judicial staff. Professional judicial activity can only be guaranteed by high-level trainings for judges, assistant judges, trainee judges and judicial employees. The training of 11,000 employees working for the judiciary shall be performed partly centrally and partly on the level of regional courts and regional courts of appeal with the central coordination of trainings by the Hungarian Academy of justice.
